Data Analyst

AeroGrow International, Inc., makers and marketers of the AeroGarden line of indoor gardening products, has an opening for a Jr. Data Analyst. This position will be responsible for data analysis and reporting for the Direct Response Division, assisting the Senior Programmer/Analyst with database maintenance and regular and on-demand analytics requests.

This is an entry-level position with potential for long-term growth.

The Jr. Data Analyst will be expected to generate and compile various reports for measuring and tracking key business metrics using multiple data gathering tools and languages; distribute reports accordingly on a regular and 1-off basis to various departments; and maintain our automated reporting server, including updating datasets and monitoring performance and data integrity.

• Extract data and compile reports from various systems and sources and verify accuracy and integrity of data
• Generate ongoing reports for various departments based on specific metrics, criteria, goals and direction
• Generate 1-off reports for various departments and individuals for their specific needs
• Maintenance of automated reporting server

• Additional computer and data-related projects as requested

• Knowledge and understanding of computers, databases, data manipulation, querying tools and reporting software
• Excellent computer skills both hardware and software; including Microsoft Windows client and server platforms, SQL/MS Access, Excel & other MS Office applications
• Knowledge of Linux platform, or capacity to learn Linux and LAMP
• Programming knowledge a plus (particularly PHP)

• Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Applicable work experience desired
